One of the best tools in your weight loss arsenal can be a weight loss recipe collection.
This is just what it sounds like; a collection of recipes that focus on healthy eating for the purposes of maintaining a strong metabolism along with good hormonal balance.
Why is this such a powerful tool? Because boredom with the diet is one of the most common reasons why people give up on their fat-burning lifestyle. Now, I personally am ok eating the same things on most days, but most of my clients love variety and so, for them, it is a necessity to have a toolbox full of recipes that are easily accessible!
If you start a weight loss recipe collection, you will arm yourself with endless supply of delicious meals, snacks, soups, desserts, breads, muffins, and so much more.
There are various formats you can use for you recipe collection.
A recipe box with index cards.
I call this the “Grandma method”, because this is the one that your mother or grandmother used when you were a kid before computers and smartphones. In a nutshell, it’s a plastic box filled with index cards, upon which are handwritten recipes. Well, why not start a brand new one just for your fat loss friendly recipes!
A recipe scrapbook.
If you prefer working from cookbooks rather than index cards, you can use a scrapbook to create your own cookbook for healthy recipes. Simply print or type your favorite recipes onto acid-free paper (so it doesn’t disintegrate over time), and stick them in a scrapbook. You can even add photos of the finished dishes if you like. For easiest retrieval, set up different sections for main dishes, desserts, salads, soups, etc.
An electronic recipe book
You may find it easier and more enjoyable to store your favorite recipes electronically instead of on paper, and there are several good ways to do this:
Just creating this weight loss recipe collection isn’t enough of course – it’s important to actually USE it too! Each day, pick a new recipe and give it a try. Over time you’ll find some that you really love, but keep trying new ones too!
They say that variety is the spice of life – but it’s also the key to keeping your weight loss fun and interesting. So, if you find yourself getting bored with your diet, do something about it!
