If you are reading this article, I hope you've come across some of the information that Dr. Ray and I have provided you with stating just how important resistance training is and that increasing your muscle mass (sometimes referred to as lean tissue) is the quickest way to bump up the speed of your metabolism. As you gain muscle, your metabolism speeds up. In turn, you're able to eat more food!

There are a few old school myths I'd like to address and set the bar straight TODAY that have to do with muscle growth and fat loss.

According to a study done by the University of Michigan, many of us given the chance to choose our own weights to use during a workout are choosing way too low to even begin to stimulate muscle growth! This research was done on both men and women, both failing to even come close to choosing a weight that would promote BUILDING muscle. In my opinion, if you are going to hit the gym and make the effort to get there and actually workout, you ought to make it worth your while. Challenge yourself and estimate a little heavier... TODAY! I was actually disappointed when I read the write up on this study... I didn't think so many of us out there under estimate ourselves. We are strong, we are healthy! Positive reinforcement must start within you!

Did it have a mother?

If the answer is "yes" then it is probably a protein. If the answer is "no" then it is probably a carbohydrate. By this definition then meat, eggs, milk (for our argument we will say it "came from" a mother) are all proteins. Lettuce, apples, oranges, grains carrots, etc. all do NOT have a mother and therefore are considered a carbohydrate.

In the book "The Weight Loss Cure ‘They' Don't Want You To Know About", infomercial guru Kevin Trudeau talks about the "suppressed weight loss breakthrough" that was discovered in the 1960s. This treatment uses a hormone produced by the placenta during the development of the fetus. Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin, triggers the sex glands of the fetus to develop. He talks about Dr. Simeons, a doctor in Rome in the 60's who found that hCG could also help people who are on very low calorie diets lose more fat with less symptoms such as hunger, headache, etc.
Kevin Treudeau gives testimonial to the process when he describes how he lost 50 pounds in 60 days. He then goes on to guarantee a weight loss of 30 pounds in 30 days. Quite a guarantee, although one that you will see in practically every infomercial dedicated to weight loss. When you look into the hCG treatment of obesity you find some pretty disturbing facts that Kevin Treudeu "doesn't want you to know about"...

Almonds, Brazil nuts, Cashews, Chestnuts, Hazels, Macadamia Nuts, Peanuts, Pecans, Pine Nuts, Pistachios, Walnuts, etc. These are all nuts we are familiar with and most of us can't just stop at a handful!
For my entire life, I just never seemed to be able to get into the habit of flossing. I knew it was important to my oral health, I knew that if I didn't start flossing I would ultimately have to have very painful gum surgery. My dentist told me this and I believed him. So why couldn't I do it? Why couldn't I get into a ritual of flossing? Brushing was not an issue, I did it religiously every morning and every evening. But I just would not floss!! Well, one day I came upon a secret that would instantly change my flossing life. In one night, I started flossing and to this day I do it practically every day. This secret can easily be used to help you in your fat loss journey...So are you ready for it? Here it is, at absolute NO CHARGE!
