The road to the OCB presidential cup Figure Competition is 6 weeks for me… actually, john and i (as well as a team of figure/bb'ers) are preparing for this show.John and I workout together when we can, and do our 'own thing' when we cant work out together. its great for us in the 'understanding' terms of it all… life gets in the way for EVERYONE and we both agree that there are no excuses!

I post up my 6 week 'diet down' on here so those of you who wonder what we do can see that it IS DOABLE!!! Some of you out there might wonder what it might be like to get ready for a competition. Some maybe not, but for those of you who have either thought about competing yourself or merely thought about getting into better shape and HOW to incorporate it into your life hence, documenting  my next 6 weeks (pretty much daily) and post my journal on here.

IF you become interested in competing yourself, john and i would advise you come to one of our seminars to see how others (like you) get involved! for more info, you can email me or send me a message :)

DAY 2… Today is Tuesday,(i started on monday) today is a lower carb day for me… my diet is different than johns but our exercise routines are pretty much the same. I obviously dont  need as many calories as him, since im nearly half his weight. however, i eat about 1600-1700 calories daily.

my routine today:

6.30am coffee with sugar free creamer and splenda

7:00am eggs

8.30 am HIIT training and heavy abs at the gym (took kids with me and put them in daycare)

9.30am protein drink

11am lunch! 3 rice cakes with tuna, avocado and tomato

kids down for nap and i try to rest too. then get up to work at home…

2pm lunch #2! oatmeal pancakes with natural pb and sugar free syrup.

4pm protein drink

7pm salmon and salad

8pm going to track or gym to have another cardio session.

*i do a majority of the cooking and food prep at home (i am a stay home mom, so i have the luxury of being at home to cook) however, it isnt easy with 3 kids needing attention!  so for all of you moms out there… it can be done!

ok, so im going to have to figure out how to post up pics. i'd like to do weekly photos so you can all watch the improvements made weekly.

Week 1- i was up just about every hour last night. it doesnt happen all the time, but last night was rough!! life will always get in the way but there are no excuses… im a bit tired this am but im getting the kids dressed and shuttling everyone to the gym with me.

food plan for the day, had low carbs yesterday and going for another low carb day today. thursday will be a higher carb day. my eating will be pretty much the same

7am 2 whole eggs, 2 whites

HIIT training (legs, abs adn shoulders are super sore STILL… i think i'll just do cardio)

9.30am xtend aminos and a protein drink as soon as im home from gym w udos choice oil

11 am lunch (tuna on rice cakes with avocado and tomoato slices)\

2pm protein pancakes

(im going to be running errands this afternoon and driving for quite a while, so im going to prepare food to take with me!) boil eggs and maybe some nuts for afternoon snacking. or maybe some protein powder in a shaker to mix on the road

6pm dinner  salmon on salad

work with dr. ray!

9pm im thinking i'll be hungry… lol. probably have a shake or make it a smoothie!

today is a busy one with not much at home time, which is exactly i have the entire day planned out. this takes the urge out of going to grab soemthing un prepared!

GRRRRRRRRRRRR….. so i just typed out 2 days worth of eating, my macronutrients for both days and my post didnt save. im outta time but DO want to share my new found recipe for those trying to 'cut' fat.

deviled eggs no mayo! use regular boiled eggs, cut in half, save the yolk! mash up the yolk with mustard, avoid adding mayo. i found this to be a fairly tasty treat! if you have to , add a tiny splash of no fat milk. its a great HIGH protein snack.

i went on to say  (in the erased mystery post) that i've been doing 2 a days. hitting the gym (well, not always the gym… i mulched the yard after dinner for my evening workout) but making sure i have a large caloric expendature 2 x daily.

ive eaten pretty much the same thing daily and i am sure to get enough rest. when you're eating clean, you dont need as much rest, its great!

eat healthy today feel GREAT tomorrow.

i am enjoying that some of you are following this thread. we're going to a bbq tonight, proteins and low sodium snacks for me! bring on the fresh chopped veggies!

have a fantastic weekend everyone and feel FREE to post questions on this thread. if you're thinking it, there are probably others thinking it too…

xx blythe

whew! what a long weekend… being busy and planning long days are great for dieting for a competition because the days just fly by… however, it means you MUST be prepared with on the go foods that will work in your nutritional program.

this weekend was perfect… we went to 2 bbq's! bbq=lots of meats! it was easy to get my protein in this weekend (i aim for about 120g protein per day) sometimes more, sometimes a tad less. being around freshly cooked steaks and chicken breast was wonderful (especially cuz someone else was cooking!)

passing up the breadrolls and beer is a must… just for now!

i hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. Feel free to leave comments/questions on this thread that i may answer for you!

since the competition is 4 weeks and 5 days away, im making sure that my 2 workouts a day start this week. i have to ease myself into it… but it'll be full force. John mentioned a new supplement he really likes No-Xplode… im gonna start that this week too! We'll see if it increases my strength like it has his!Kiss

Today marks a completed week! We’ve got 4 weeks from tomorrow to get prepared for this competition. 1 month is a big mark. we can do anything for a month… right?
Training/eating perfectly clean (except for my refeed last night at pizza hut!!) has become routine. it really only takes a week or so to get into the ‘groove’ for me.
I’ve noticed gains in my strengths and because my BF is getting lower (BF=bodyfat) i have less weight to carry. I feel light and healthy and by the end of the day …. TIRED!
I find myself overall more productive (getting loads of stuff done around the house)!
If you’ve never tried cutting like this and you are interested, i’d recommend to give it a try! it cant hurt and you’ll be pleased with the results!!
Happy weekend everyone!

Its SUNDAY!today we have a barbeque planned with the family. we’ll make sure to pack the day with activities (its nearly impossible to not have an active day with 2 young boys) and pack healthy choices for foods! veggie platters are a great way to go for ‘snacking’ and lots of meats (or if you’re a vegetarian, tofu hot dogs are yummy) to pack in the protein!
hope you all enjoy your weekend!
