I have read in multiple sources that during resistance training muscles need rest to recover and rebuild (and grow). Is it correct? I want to exercise every day (without rest days), should I alternate lower body training with upper body training? Or can I do both at the same day every day?

If you plan to do weight training you must give your muscles at least a days rest between workouts.

A full body workout every other day is ok as long the intensity isn't too high.

A lower/upper routine is good but still give yourself at least 1 day rest after 2 days workout, such as upper, lower, rest

You need to do this otherwise you'll end up worn out with no energy riddled with injury. Your body needs to repair itself after weight training.
