Give Xtend a try. It has all the BCAAs and a great flavor. My favorite is Green Apple. They way I do it is I mix 8 scoops Xtend in a gallon of water and let it sit overnight in the fridge, you dont have to do this but I do so its cold and all the BCAAs are completely dissolved. Then I poor a glass of it whenever I want a great healthy drink! I drink it while I am working out as well. Xtend has been proven to be 2 times more effective at building muscle than Whey protein.

I just found your podcast on iTunes last night and just finished listening to episode 1. First, I wanted to say keep up the great work. It is so refreshing to hear some professionals who actually are knowledgable on health and fitness share their knowledge because of the abundance of uneducated “snake oil” salesmen out there!

So, my question is this. In episode 1, Dr.Ray mentions that he is an advicate for Leucine powder taken with your daily water to prevent slipping into a catabolic state while trying to lose weight. After doing some research, it appears that most places sell leucine as part of a BCAA stack (together with Isoleucine and Valine AND with glutamine as part of a stack). Can you please let me know if this is really a more effective way to prevent loss of lean muscle mass or is this just wasted money and I should just stick with the Leucine powder? My head is spinning from all the conflicting data and I would GREATLY appreciate your input!

Mike!

Great questions. I will let Ray answer the vitamin supplement. I think the answer to that depends on what your day to day diet is like. if you are getting your daily requirements for nutrients on a regular basis, i'd say that a GNC type multi will suffice. However, there are some whole food vitamins out there that may be superior, maybe even more cost efficient!

As far as a 'fat burner'... I address this in our latest podcast that there is no magic pill. Any 'fat burner' is most likely a CNS (central nervous stimulant) and will have side effects that may not be what you were looking for. As far as the ECA stack~ its been proven to be an appetite suppresant but also proven to not be safe on your heart.

I personally choose health over anything else.

Best of luck and please check us out on Facebook! Dr. Ray posted up podcast 8 yesterday, so if you havent listened in... please do so!

I have heard a good multi-vitamin is all a person really needs for supplementation, I take a brand from GNC myself. I also take a B6-B12 as well, is there any other supplements I should be adding to my program?

Also what are your feelings towards fat burners and the asprin, caffine, ephedrine stack?
